This one was extra special. She told me, “I don’t do girly—but I’m getting married
and I want a hat.”
From there, we found a colour that suited her skin tone and eyes, shaped the brim to
reflect her rural style, and played with laces and textures until we found a combo that
felt like her.
When she spotted a blue paisley tucked under some lace, she said,
“What if we used this as my something blue?”—and that was the moment the hat came to life.
We finished it with a hand-braided leather lace, tails to catch the wind, and a single rose—just like her Yorkshire rose tattoo for her dad.
It wasn’t just a hat. It was a story we built together, and one she’ll wear forever.
